"...to grant to those who mourn in Zion- to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified." Isaiah 61:3

Fendi wrapped their huge store/building in a light-up belt, with a gazillion lights and a fantastic, sparkly belt buckle! The dazzle of it all reminds me of what the ball must be like that drops on New Year's Eve in NYC.
Mercedes-Benz paid for an entire street & piazza to be decorated, uniformly in white or pale blue sparkly lights with subtley-placed Mercedes-Benz logos here and there! For example, on this tree, all of the ornaments are various-sized Mercedes-Benz logos!
Aww, I just thought this street was pretty. Not sure who paid for these white ball things, or how they got there, but I thought they were lovely :)
Lovely :)

Haha... I could have maybe tried to remember what people shouted out between each picture, but va bene... I think the pictures might just speak for themselves. It's probably more fun for you to figure out what's going on in each one, anyway. Ohhh how I love laughing and random moments. :)
Chris, with the washed-out and sanitized "Bucket O'Slop"... aka the pre-cooked green bean casserole. :)
Sam, (and Chris's thumb's up) with the also sanitized "Tub O' Taters"--- the giant red tub of potatoes that we peeled, cut up, boiled, and mashed. Phew!
I'm tryin' to make my Grandma proud. Her sweet potatoes are the best, and I am just trying to replicate in Italy! I had to buy the sweet potatoes with April & Debbie, in a market close to Termini train station in Rome. I bought potatoes from about 6-9 different vendors, because none of them had enough for what we needed! Praise the Lord that it all worked out, and He provided enough!
Jeff, Kristin, & their three kids graciously hosted the party at their apartment. Here's Jeff (and Joshua & Elizabeth, too!) carving the turkey. What a cool moment to have these Italians experience the carving of a turkey! For some of them, it's the 1st time they've ever seen it! (We had to buy our turkeys from a lady named Simone, close to a section of Rome that has buildings that deal with United Nations stuff. Praise God for Simone, the turkey lady!) :)
A couple of my friends, Alessandra & Paolo, enjoying the buffet table of traditional food!
Jeff read a couple stories having to do with Thanksgiving. (1) He read a children's book, "The story of Thanksgiving" that described the Pilgrims & Native Americans, to teach our Italian friends the reasons why we celebrate Thanksgiving. (2) Then, he read a portion out of a children's Bible storybook, about the woman in the Gospel who was so thankful for Jesus that she broke the bottle of expensive perfume and anointed Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair.
Look at all our sweet Italian friends, listening intently to Jeff as he reads! So many Italians got to hear Biblical truth about Jesus this day, as well as seeing the love of Christ lived out in our little community! I praise God for this opportunity!
